Architecture
El-Kefrawi, Kamal

(1931-1993)

Born in Cairo,
Egypt, el-Kefrawi completed his studies there. Like other Arab architects he was influenced by the building philosophy of Hassan Fathy.

In 1975-84, he designed and built the University of Qatar in Doha. In the contemporary design of the university buildings, he paid close attention to the cultural context of the project. He used the traditional wind-towers for the cooling of the entire campus.
