Architecture
Shaheen, Medhat Hassan

Born in Egypt, Shaheen studied in Cairo and England. He had an architectural firm in Cairo from 1957-1967, after which he moved to Ottawa, Canada. Like other Arab architects, he carried on Hassan Fathy’s architectural vision.

Among Shaheen’s buildings are a small Coptic church; the library, and the Science Building for the American University in Cairo (1961-62) and his own house in Maadi near Cairo.
