Forts and Castles of Bahrain - Manama Fort
The Manama Fort (Qala't al-Diwan) was built in the first half of the 18th century. Originally it consisted of four round towers joined by crenellated walls. It was used as a summer residence by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Ali al- Khalifa in the 19th century.
