Mahmoud was born in Irbid, Jordan, in 1952. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Damascus University in 1976. Mahmoud is a self-taught artist. He is a member of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association in Amman. He has published several novels and books on art and theatre.

Mahmoud currently lives and works in Irbid.
