Sahraoui, Djamila

Born in
Algeria, Djamila Sahraoui studied humanities in Algiers and then studied film at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographiques (IDHEC) in Paris. Since 1975, she has lived in France and was made the laureate of la Villa Medicis in 1997 as a result of the success of her documentary works.
