Amari, Raja

(1971- )

Raja Amari was born in
Tunisia and trained for many years as a dancer at the Conservatoire de Tunis. She also studied Romance Languages with an emphasis on Art History at the University of Tunis and completed her film studies at Paris's Formation et Enseignement pour les Métiers de l´Image et du Son (FEMIS), where she directed two short films . Her first feature length film is “Satin Rouge”, for which she won New Director’s Showcase Award at the Seattle Film Festival in 2002.
