Issa Bin Ali al-Kahhal was an ophthalmologist and student of Hunayn bin Ishaq. He excelled in making mascara. His book, “Tazkarat Al-Mukahhelin” (Ticket of the Mascara Makers), is on the anatomy and diseases of the eye. The book contained what Hunayn Ibn Ishaq translated f rom the Greek and his own observations on the eye and its diseases.
