Muwafak Al-Din Bin Abi Usaybah was born in Damascus in 1203 and studied medicine there. He was the most famous biographer of Arab physicians, writing 400 complete biographies. He wrote the book “Uyon al- Anba’ fi Tabaqat al-Attiba’” (Glimpses of Medical Strata) ,a brief history of Greek medicine.
