A single-reed instrument equipped with two horn bells and played in Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria. It is comparable to the Levantine mijwiz.

A version of the maqrunah comes with a bag attached and is played like a bagpipe, is called mizwid, literally "bag," or "food pouch."
